Ocean Magazine : 3 September October 2005
10 | ocean PERSPECTIVE Abreath of fresh air. OCEAN Magazine's sea trials over recent issues have proven a great success. She is a vessel designed from a fresh sheet of paper right from the start. And as in boat design - large or small - totally new designs and ideas in marine publishing are the exception to the rule. Designed and built to exacting standards, OCEAN is published for a dedicated and specific reader - lovers of luxury boating in this antipodean corner of the world - one of the greatest and most varied cruising grounds to be found anywhere. And the accolades for OCEAN have rolled in from coast to coast; indeed from across the globe, remembering that close to 70 percent of which is water. Along the way, OCEAN has made more than a few waves in the Australian luxury boating community. We wanted to briefly say thank you to those readers that have gone out of your way to provide feedback and for your continuing letters, emails and commentary about the magazine. It is appreciated and gratifying. But more importantly, please continue to make suggestions of stories of interest, new builds and exciting destinations. Our editorial line-up this issue is a varied one, including four reviews on sensational vessels - two home grown and two luxury imports; a host of maritime news inWatermark and a wide range of dedicated special features on topics from Chefs on Board to Dockside to The Yachting Report. We also hosted the official launch function for OCEAN Magazine on July 28, the opening day of the Sydney International Boat Show. A swish night was had by all 250 guests at the OCEAN HQ in the National Publishing Group offices on the tip of Sydney's Jones Bay Wharf. Of course, this issue presents a taste of the night when we officially broke the bubbly over OCEAN 's bows. We hope this issue continues to provide you with a breath of fresh air in luxury boating.
